Travel Dreams

It no secret that I dream about vacations almost every day! It is also no secret that I am my fathers child as he also loves to travel! I mean seriously, if you don’t know by now then allow me to fill you in a bit. Growing up I was given the opportunity to travel a lot because my father loves to travel which meant that we got to go a long with him! So this instilled in me a love for all things travel & I mean all things! I love beach vacations, I love road trips (although the older I get the more I like taking my time getting places), I love camping, I love exploring, I mean this list is endless! So with all that I thought I would share some of the places that are on my top to visit list! (Really hoping to be able to go sometime in the next year actually – it’s all in the works currently). But the top four places that I want to visit next are in EUROPE! Like I said I LOVE beaches… as in I would drop everything right now to move close to a beach if I could! Well the four places on my list for this year are Greece specifically Santorini & Mykonos. Italy – Venice & Florence. Amsterdam to visit a near and dear friend of mine who is currently living there! And lastly I want to go to Norway to see my brother (not related by blood but for all intensive purposes he is my brother). Y’all believe me when I say this is a bucket list type trip for me! I have actually had this trip in the works since my last birthday! I wanted to share with you some pictures of the beauty that these specific parts of Europe have to offer! And don’t you worry, once we go I will write another blog post about places to stay, things to do, where to eat, really you name it & I will share it with you!

First is GREECE!!! Anyone obsessed with all things that have anything to do with Greece? Because that is entirely me. I have wanted to go to Santorini & Mykonos since forever. I mean look at this beautiful place! Who wouldn’t want to go there. All the architecture, food, culture, people… if this isn’t on your list of places to go yet then you should for sure add it to that list! And I mean how romantic does it look?!?

SANTORINI is just a must see. I love how the city is built & all the beautiful views that you get from there. I mean I haven’t been but I love everything about it.

MYKONOS! Like I said I am all about beaches, water, whatever gets me near the water really. While Santorini & Mykonos have a lot of similarities there is still so much that is different. I can not wait to go explore all the places around Mykonos & see all the beauty that is there.

The third place is ITALY! Who wouldn’t want to go to Italy… I mean the land of pasta… bring on all the carbs please… but in all seriousness do you see how beautiful it looks?

Venice is one of those places that you just have to see if you are going to Italy. There are so many cool & unique things about Venice… I mean the whole city is built on water! I mean look at how beautiful it looks! I think the pictures alone do this place justice! Canals & boats, the whole works. I am looking forward to exploring in this city.

If Venice is on my list then Florence for sure had to be added! So much history, and another place with incredible architecture. Also can we talk about the wine?!? I would love to go and visit a vineyard & a distillery to see more of the process they go through.

AMSTERDAM. What is not to see in Amsterdam. There is just so much that I would like to do while I am there. Some of the things that I would like to do is go see the Van Gogh Museum, the Anne Frank Museum, visit the ports & canals, and go to the Hortus Botanicus just to name a few. Like I said there is so much to see & I feel like this is a place that I would need & like to go back to a few times to really capture the full experience. Plus what isn’t to love about being able to see high school friends who are near & dear to you in Amsterdam. Really that is one of the main reasons I want to go.

NORWAY. Where do I start with this one. First of all the main reason that I want to go to Norway is because my brother (again not related by blood but for all intensive purposes he is my brother) lives & is from Norway. I have always loved getting to try some of the great food when I was over at his house back in the day. I think the language is just beautiful. And there are so many pretty sites to see as well. I would love to do the Flam Railway – if you don’t know what that is you should for sure look it up, you will not be disappointed & will likely want to go as well. I also want to go to Bergen which has some neat architecture. And besides that Norway has some beautiful landscape. Again this is a place that I feel I will need to visit a few times to take in all that I would love to see.

Travel is one of those things that cost money but I have often heard it said that experiences you have while traveling are far better than the things that you can have. Traveling creates experiences that will create memories that will last a lifetime. I mean to this day I feel that travel was one of the most enriching experiences that I was able to have! I am thankful that my dad instilled a love for travel in me from an early age & that as a 20 something year old I can say that I have traveled to all 7 continents! I mean how cool is that? (Dad, if you’re reading this THANK YOU)!
